A practical Wellesley donation worksheet
Floor lamp donation planner
A standing lamp can be tall, fragile and top-heavy. Record its height, base diameter and whether it has an arc arm, multiple shades or a separate power supply. Describe the assembled footprint so a recipient can assess the space it needs.

Before recipient review
Photograph the base and joints as well as the shade and cord. Disclose a loose pole, unstable base, damaged wiring or faulty switch. Keep a damaged electrical item out of the general donation pile while you confirm an appropriate route.
Prepare only as agreed
Ask whether the transporter wants it assembled and how to protect the shade. Do not loosen a heavy base or dismantle electrical parts without an agreed plan. Record tight stairs and ceiling restrictions. If you are donating several lamps, count each one and distinguish table lamps from floor lamps.
