How to Donate a Bed Frame in Wellesley, MA
Plan a bed-frame donation with an accurate size, complete parts, hardware and a confirmed recipient. Keep mattress acceptance separate.

Separate the frame from the mattress
A bed frame, foundation, headboard and mattress are separate pieces with separate acceptance questions. Record the bed size and list what is included: headboard, footboard, rails, slats, center support, legs and hardware. Say whether a box spring is needed or included.
Completeness matters
Photograph the assembled frame and any missing or damaged components. A recipient needs to know whether it can be used as intended. If disassembly is agreed, label the components and keep the matching fasteners in a secured bag. Keep instructions if available. Do not dismantle a powered adjustable base before confirming safe handling.
Plan the carry route
A headboard may be the largest single piece even after the frame is taken apart. Measure it and explain stairs, narrow landings and elevator limits. Describe metal, solid wood and upholstered frames accurately because handling and recipient policies differ.
What about the mattress?
Check mattress donation and recycling independently. An accepted frame does not mean the mattress is accepted. Build the list with separate quantities for the frame, mattress and box spring, then use the pickup planning checklist.
