Apartment Furniture Donation in Wellesley: Access Checklist
Plan an apartment donation pickup with elevator, building and loading details agreed before the collection.

Get building requirements before a date is confirmed
An apartment pickup involves the building as well as the item. Ask the manager about loading locations, permitted hours, elevator reservations and any documentation required from a transport company. Share requirements during the review so the provider can say whether it can meet them.
Describe the route in useful pieces
Record the floor, number of stair flights, elevator availability and any steps between the loading point and entrance. A service elevator may not reach the unit directly. Mention long corridors, tight landings or a door that needs staff access. Do not put door codes in general request notes.
Make a clear unit-level list
List each piece and count it separately. Include the largest measurements and describe removable components. Your building’s move policy does not establish a charity’s acceptance; confirm the recipient as a separate step.
- Building pickup hours and reservations checked.
- Loading arrangement and actual carry route described.
- Provider documentation requirements shared.
- Items and destination reviewed.
- Charges and date confirmed before collection.
A useful request example
“One loveseat and two dining chairs; third floor; elevator reservation required; three entrance steps; loading location to be confirmed with manager” gives a reviewer more to work with than “apartment pickup.” Use the planning guide to complete the details and build your list.
