Office Furniture Donations in Wellesley: Inventory & Access
Plan an office donation with a component-level inventory, recipient review and workplace access arrangements.

Inventory the components, not just the rooms
“Office furniture” does not explain the load. Count task chairs, desks, returns, cabinets, conference tables and shelving separately. For modular workstations, describe the component layout and identify which pieces belong together. Use the item directory to create a consistent list.
Check recipient fit before disassembly
Office furniture can require space, assembly and specific dimensions that a household furnishing program cannot accommodate. Ask about the particular items and quantities. Do not assume that a program accepting dining chairs also accepts task chairs. Keep photos and dimensions available for review.
Protect the information that stays behind
Empty drawers and cabinets of records, keys and personal belongings. Remove company devices and storage media from the donation scope. Any separate electronics or data disposal should follow the organization’s own process; do not mix it into a furniture request.
Coordinate the workplace
Check dock reservations, building hours, elevator access and any insurance documentation requested by the property manager. Identify who can approve disassembly and ensure nobody disconnects workplace equipment without the appropriate arrangements.
- Each type and quantity listed separately.
- Recipient review completed for office items.
- Records and devices removed from the scope.
- Building requirements shared with the provider.
- Disassembly, destination and charges confirmed.
Start with office chairs, standing desks or filing cabinets.
