Furniture Donation Photo Checklist: What to Show
Use an interactive checklist to photograph furniture, document condition and prepare a useful donation review.

Make the item easy to assess
Use clear light and show the actual piece rather than a retailer’s product image. A photograph supports a review; it does not replace the recipient’s final decision. Avoid including people, personal documents, address labels or valuables in the frame.
Your photo checklist
- A full view showing the entire piece.
- The back, sides and top where relevant.
- Close views of wear, stains, tears or damage.
- All matching components, cushions, shelves or leaves.
- A maker or model label, with personal information excluded.
- Written width, depth and height recorded with the item.
- Mechanism or electrical faults described in words.
- Stairs, tight turns and access restrictions described separately.
Different pieces need different evidence
For a sectional, show each component. For a bed frame, identify rails, supports and hardware. For an office chair, explain the lift and caster condition. For appliances, record the model and operating faults.
Share photos through an agreed channel
The pickup form collects your selected items and notes; this checklist does not upload photographs. Keep your photos ready and ask the reviewer how to provide them. Do not send access codes or private documents as item photographs.
Keep a separate donation record
Save the date, item description and your own records of condition. Ask the recipient about its acknowledgment. Use the records checklist for the paperwork questions.
